Ulteriori informazioni / contenuti	Zum Werk Das Stück wurde von der Hochschule für Musik Bern (Schweiz) bestellt für die Abschlussprüfung des Solistendiploms von Roland Fröscher, ein brillianter junger Euphoniumvirtuose. Das Capriccio besteht aus 4 eingegliederte Sätze: der erste, Moderato, stellt das Hauptthema in Form eines Rezitativs vor, das sich mit einem lyrischen Moment ausdehnt. Die Motive des Solisten und des Orchesters sind ausgefeilt und ineinander geflochten bis ein vehementer Höhepunkt ausbricht, wo das Orchester dreimal den jähzornige glissandi des Euphoniums antwortet Das Lento expressivo entspricht dem Wunsch des Solisten für seine besondere Vorliebe für lange, ausdrucksvolle Kantilenen. Das Finale beansprucht die technische Geschmeidigkeit des Solisten in einem kontrastierten Satz wo sich - mehr oder weniger verändert - die Hauptmotive des Werkes verbinden. Die Uraufführung des Capriccio fand am 1. Juli 2005 im Grossen Saal des Kasinos Bern statt, mit Roland Fröscher, Euphonium und das Berner Symphonieorchester unter der Leitung von Matthias Kuhn. Jean Balissat About the work This work was commissioned by the Musikhochschule Bern (Switzerland) for the Soloist Diploma final examination of Roland Fröscher, a brillant young euphonium virtuoso. The Capriccio is set in four movements that are played attacca: the first, moderato, consists of the main theme presented in the form of a recitative prolonged by a lyrical moment. The scherzo features the juxtaposition and interplay of the soloist and orchestra motives leading to an intense culmination point where the orchestra responds three times to the furiously energetic euphonium glissandi. The lento espressivo is a specific musical response to the soloist's request for something that would accommodate his predilection for long expressive cantilenas. The finale represents a challenge to the technical skills of the soloist in a contrasting movement that encompasses the principal motivs, offered in transliterated forms, of the composition. The world premiere of the Capriccio was given July 1st 2005 in the large concert hall of the Casino Bern, with Roland Fröscher, euphonium and the Bern Symphony Orchestra conducted by Matthias Kuhn. Jean Balissat A propos de l'oeuvre Cette pièce résulte d'une commande de la Haute Ecole de Musique de Berne, passée à l'intention d'un brillant jeune virtuose de l'euphonium, Roland Fröscher, pour l'épreuve finale de son Diplôme de soliste. Le Capriccio est constitué de 4 mouvements qui s'enchaînent: le premier, moderato, à la manière d'un récitatif présente le thème principal, prolongé d'un moment lyrique. Le scherzo cisèle et entrelace les motifs du soliste et de l'orchestre jusqu'à une culmination véhémente où par trois fois l'orchestre répond aux glissandi rageurs de l'euphonium. Le lento espressivo est la réalisation d'un voeux exprimé par le dédicataire en raison de son penchant pour les longues cantilène expressives. Le finale met à contribution l'agilité technique du soliste dans un mouvement contrasté où se combinent, plus ou moins transformés, les principaux motifs de la composition. La création mondiale du Capriccio a eu lieu le 1er juillet 2005 dans la grande salle du Casino de Berne avec Roland Fröscher à l'euphonium et l'Orchestre symphonique de Berne placé sous la direction de Matthias Kuhn.
