Fanny Hensels Komposition basiert auf der im Jahre 856 ent­standenen Messe für die hlg. Caecilie, die am 22. November zelebriert wird. Der Part des Chores ist leicht bis mittelschwer, die Solisten sind unterschiedlich gefordert. Inglese: Saint and matyr of the early Christian church, honored as patroness of music since the late 15th century, Cecilia is one of the few female saints evoked in the canon of the Catholic Mass. It is a really doxological piece - a short hymn on words of praise ascribing glory to God.
