Der Komponist Kees Vlak will in diesem besonderen Projekt einen Eindruck geben, wie eine Komposition entsteht und wie sich die Arbeit des Komponisten entwickelt. 3. Teil ESSAY (Dodecaphony) Zwölftonmusik Im 1. Teil COMPOSER’S WORKSHOP – KOMPONISTEN-WERKSTATT wurden die musikalischen Themen in verschiedenen Variationen entwickelt. Im 2. Teil OVERTURE – OUVERTÜRE haben wir erfahren, wie man aus diesem musikalischen Material eine größere Komposition schaffen kann. Es gab in Teil 1 COMPOSER’S WORKSHOP – KOMPONISTEN-WERKSTATT allerdings auch noch die Variation Dodecaphony mit Zwölftonmusik, die nicht in die OVERTURE – OUVERTÜRE gepasst hat. Zwölftonmusik ist ein System, das der berühmte Komponist Arnold Schönberg entwickelt hat. Jeder der 12 Töne aus unserem Notensystem darf erst dann wieder vorkommen, wenn auch die anderen 11 Töne verwendet wurden. Kees Vlak hat nun aus der zeitgenössischen Variation Dodecaphony den 3. Teil von THE YOUNG EXPLORER einen ESSAY: TWELVE TONE TECHNIQUE – ZWÖLFTONMUSIK komponiert. Dieser ist nicht komplett im Stil von Arnold Schönberg, da sonst alle Musikstrukturen komplett gebrochen wären, was das Stück sehr kompliziert zu spielen machen würde. Deswegen hat Kees Vlak die Struktur einer kanonischen, also polyphonen Komposition mit Vorspiel und Nachspiel geschaffen. Die Zwölftontechnik hat er darauf dann nicht nur horizontal, sondern auch vertikal angewendet. Kees Vlak möchte mit seinem ESSAY: TWELVE TONE TECHNIQUE – ZWÖLFTONMUSIK eine Brücke zur neuen Musik bauen. Für ihn ist Musik immer Kommunikation! ...und sie ist Kunst! Wie bei der Kunst des ausgewogenen Lebens sollte man Spannung und Entspannung in ein Gleichgewicht bringen, abhängig vom Temperament des Komponisten und der Musiker. Die moderne Musik ist eigentlich wie die konventionelle Musik, jedoch ein bisschen wie in einer anderen Sprache. Inglese: The trilogy THE YOUNG EXPLORER is a special edition of the series EXPLORA. Part 3 ESSAY (Dodecaphony) Twelve Tone Technique In the first part COMPOSER’S WORKSHOP the composer created the musical themes and six different variations. The second part OVERTURE showed, how a composer puts the different elements together and creates a piece of music. In part 1 COMPOSER’S WORKSHOP there has been the variation dodecaphony with twelve tone technique, which did not fit into the OVERTURE. Twelve tone technique has been developed by the famous composer Arnold Schönberg. Each of the 12 notes of our tonal system may only reappear when all the other 11 notes have been used, too. Based on the contemporary variation Kees Vlak creates the third Part of THE YOUNG EXPLORER, which is called ESSAY: TWELVE TONE TECHNIQUE. It is not totally composed in the style of Arnold Schönberg, as this would break all musical structures and make the piece very complicated to perform. So Kees Vlak writes a canonical, polyphonic composition with prelude and postlude. He uses the twelve tone technique not only horizontally, but also vertically. With his ESSAY: TWELVE TONE TECHNIQUE Kees Vlak wants to build a bridge to contemporary music. For him, music is communication! ...and it is art! Like the art of a well-balanced life you should balance out tension and relaxation, depending on the temper of the composer and the musicians. Modern music is actually just like conventional music – it’s just a bit like a different language.
