Ulteriori informazioni / contenuti	1963 spielte ich in einem Trio in der erstaunlich schönen Besetzung von Klarinette, Bratsche und Klavier. Mozart, mit seinem Trio 'Kegelstatt' (KV. 498) vom 9. August 1786, hat wahrscheinlich das erste und wohl bekannteste Werk für diese Besetzung komponiert. Andere folgten: Max Bruch, Robert Schumann, Alfred Uhl, Leo Smit, um nur sie zu nennen. Ende 1960 schlug ich meinem Komponistenfreund Richard Lane vor, ein neues Werk für unser Ensemble zu schreiben. Es wurde im September 1963 fertiggestellt und wir haben es in der Carnegie Recital Hall am 24. Januar 1964 mit Naomi Drucker, Klarinettistin und Miriam Brickman Birch am Klavier uraufgeführt. Fast zwanzig Jahre danach schrieb Richard Lane ein zweites Trio für dieselbe Formation (Trio No. 2, 1982 - BIM MCX51), das ich einige Jahre später aufgeführt habe. Mit dem vorliegenden Trio No. 1 beweist Richard Lane einmal mehr seine Begabung, für diese drei Instrumente schöne, lyrische und klanglich aussergewöhnliche Musik zu schreiben. Dieses dreisätzige, in klassicher Form strukturierte Werk, ist hochstehende Kammermusik und eine wichtige Bereicherung dieses Repertoires. In the early 1960ies, I suggested to my friend, Richard Lane to write such a trio. He finished the work in September 1963 and the premiere took place at Carnegie Recital Hall on January 24, 1964 with Naomi Drucker, clarinetist and Miriam Brickman Birch, pianist. Nearly twenty years later, Richard Lane came up with a second work for these instruments (Trio No. 2, 1982 - Editions Bim MXC51) which I subsequently performed a few years later. This Trio No. 1 shows Richard Lane's ability to write beautifully and lyrically for these three instruments and to blend them with some resulting outstanding sound combinations. This three-movement work, adhering to classical forms, is a superior chamber work from the pen of composer Richard Lane and should prove an important addition to this repertory. Avec ce Trio No. 1 Richard Lane démontre ses qualités d'écriture et de lyrisme, tirant des effets sonores exceptionnels de ces trois instruments. Les trois mouvements de l'oeuvre suivent les formes classiques. C'est une musique de chambre de haut niveau qui constitue un enrichissement substantiel pour ce répertoire.
